I have a great book by Jeff Heads called, North East England Panoramas and its made up entirely of amazing Panoramic Photos from locations throughout the North East of England, From North Northumberland to Teesdale and Teesside and everything in between.

My particular favourite part of the book, is North Northumberland where Jeff Heads takes some spectacular shots of Lindisfarne Castle, Bamburgh Castle and Alnwick Castle.

The book is split up into the different regions of the North East, and the book has kind of inspired me to travel to all these different places and see if i can re-create these amazing panoramic shots.

So thats what i am going to do. I’m going to start with North Northumberland, and over the next few weeks i am going to see if i can re-create what Jeff Meads has done with his book.

Jeff Meads is obviously a professional and i know i wont be able to re-create the quality he has produced, but it will just be nice to actually visit all these amazing places that are right on my door step. I will post my photos here and on my phil.im Flickr page.

You can visit Jeff Meads website at www.theviewfinder.co.uk

With the weather being so nice right now, i took my son to the Mouth of the River Tyne at Tynemouth and had a little walk along the river side.

While i was there i took a number of panoramic photos using my dedicated panoramic tripod head which allows me to easily take a number of different photos all in a line, and at the same time keep the camera in exactly the right position to get the best results for a panoramic photo.

To do this, i used the Nodal Ninja NN3 MKII tripod head and my Canon 5D MKII.

I decided not to do any post production on the images in Photoshop afterwards, so what you see in the images is what i saw on the day.
