In just over 3 weeks i will be running my first ever half marathon, the Bupa Great North Run. 13.1 miles of pure hell, but i can’t wait.
When i got my place for the Run, i knew i would like to raise some money for a good cause, but i wasn’t 100% sure for which charity.

I think its fair to say that i am in the minority when it comes to mobile phones. I dont have one and i dont want one. Weird? Probably, but thats just me, plus i save quite a bit of money per month this way compared to people i know with mobile phones.
One thing i do miss though is a 3G mobile broadband internet connection using something like an iPhone.
When i first heard about the Novatel Mifi 2352, i knew straight away that this would solve this problem for me.

I use a Macbook Pro for my laptop when i’m on the move, and my main desktop machine is an iMac.

After the extremely sad death of Sir Bobby Robson, tens of thousands of people descended on St James’ Park to pay their respects to the great man.
Football shirts, scarfs, flowers, letters, photos, paintings and teddy bears were just some of the things left by well wishers, and once the stadium was closed to the public 9 days after his death an amazing site was left on the Leazes End at St James’ Park, a site which couldn’t help but move you. continue reading »

I recently purchased a Samsung NC10 Netbook with Built-In HSDPA (3G). This was my first ever “Netbook”, and i always knew that Netbooks were low powered compared to “Laptops”, and especially machines like my Macbook Pro. But the main reason i wanted a netbook, was to have 3G internet access on the move.
In January (2009) i had heard about “Jolicloud” on techcrunch.com. Jolicloud is a Linux based operating system aimed directly at Netbooks, and this really interested me. I didn’t want a machine that would run Photoshop or other high end software programs like that. All i wanted was a machine that allowed me to check emails, and access certain websites like twitter.com and so on. continue reading »
