iTunes App Store – Android Market
For about a year now, I have been working on my first ever iPhone and Android App. The app is an addictive little game called Spud Gun Attack, and I am now finally at the point where I can set the app live in the iTunes App Store and also the Android Market.
The idea behind the game is simple, but addictive. Simply, Point, Aim and Fire. Below, you can see a few screenshots from within the game, including the main characters and also the apps icon. You can click the images, for larger versions.

I knew creating the app would be the easy part. The thing that worried me was actually getting people to pay the $0.99 to download and play the game. This is where the idea came about of setting myself the challenge or trying to get 1000 downloads within the first 30 days of the app going on sale, with ZERO promotion from myself. Everyone has their own way of setting up their computer systems, and one thing I like when using the Internet is having my Internet browser setup in a clean simple way. I don’t like lots of buttons, toolbars and other junk that isn’t really needed to simply browse the web.
One thing I do like though is having the bookmark toolbar with quick easy access to all my most visited websites. One thing I really like about Safari and Firefox is that you can have your bookmark toolbar with the only the names of the bookmarks and not the sites favicon. Chrome, is a great browser, but removing the favicons just hasn’t been possible.
Finally though I have found an extension which now allows you to remove the favicons from the Chrome bookmarks toolbar.
The extension is called “No Favicons” and can be found here.
One little tip…. Once the extension is installed, go to the settings page and select the “Nothing” option.

When I had Snow Leopard installed, I used a small app which was added to your system preferences pane, called StartupSound.prefPane this was just what I wanted. The problem is though that StartupSound.prefPane is not compatible with Mac OSX Lion.
I needed another way of turning the Mac OSX Lion start-up sound off. continue reading »

I recently registered a great little domain name, nufc.tv, which of course relates to Newcastle United. I had some spare time today so I put together a quick website which can be found at www.nufc.tv and its a simple idea of aggregating a number of Newcastle United websites and displaying all the latest news articles all on one page. Check it out at www.nufc.tv
